'Hancock 2,' 'Sin City 2' and 'Superman 2'

Small news bits that hardly serve as news...

Small snippets of news regarding Hancock 2, Sin City 2 and the Superman Returns follow-up hit the Net over the past 24 hours. They can hardly be considered "real" news, but I am sure some of you will find the updates interesting.

First off, JoBlo talked to Will Smith regarding another Hancock film and got this:

We just got done talking to Will Smith, who's promoting SEVEN POUNDS, and he told us that we'll "definitely" be seeing a sequel. When we asked Will if he'd ever be up for playing another superhero he replied that there were a lot of unexplored characters in the HANCOCK universe that would be ripe for a sequel and confirmed that we'll definitely see the rumored HANCOCK 2 in a few years.

Next, Frank Miller talked to IGN UK about the long gestating Sin City 2 and got some encouraging words:

"Sin City 2 is written," he told the site. "It's mainly a matter of working out the details of the production. I'm hoping to do it with Robert Rodriguez again in the same circumstances that we did the first one, and we could be shooting as soon as April."

And finally, Bryan Singer talked to UGO about his involvement in a follow-up to Superman Returns and this is how it went:

JH: But there is talk of a new film, though. Are you officially involved in this talk of the new film?

BS: I am not officially involved in the talk, no.

JH: But when talk happens they’ll call you.

BS: Well it’s, you know, I have relationships with Warner Brothers and with the character and, and, and, and it’s just the way things work out.

JH: But you are not divorced from Superman at this point.

BS: No.

Can someone please rescue the original superhero from the mean streets of hollywood. We're talking about Superman, for Pete's Sake!! Its time for an epic origina story. I wanna see special effects (Krypton in all of its glory, Jor-El and the council, the destruction of Krypton), I wanna see villians (not just Luthor, but Bizzaro, General Zod, etc.) and I wanna see a story worthy of the Man-of-Steel. Its time to revive Superman in all of his glory. He will never be the Dark Knight, but that's okay, we now live in a time of hope…a time of change…we need to gaze towards the heavens again.

The first Hancock I would have to say kinda sucked, the first half was really good i thought, then it just kinda died, but I really am looking forward to seeing a 2nd one, cuz I think with Hancock there is always a change they can do it right.

Hancock sucked and was small competition to Ironman and TDK. I will definetly not see a sequel of that. Or Superman. And is it sad to say I fell asleep during Sin City? I didn't find it that interesting, Maybe I'll give it another try.

I'd love to see Sin City 2.

I need to see "Superman Returns" before I can judge on a sequel. Despite everyone saying it sucks, it got quite a few rave reviews upon release, and most of the complaints seem to be related to the fact that it's too slow and long, which I don't mind in the slightest, since the director has proven himself to be excellent in other films.

Hancock 2 does not need to be made. "Hancock" was great (minus the epilogue, which was tacked due to test audience response, but totally trivialized the ending in my opinion). But I don't see exactly where it could go without fellating.

I would rather see Hancock 2 than speilberg and Smith's Oldboy talk, and I'm a serious Speilberg fan and I think Smith is a modern sci-fi king. Not the King in my personal opinion I mean just by his record, Independance Day – Hancock with a bunch of other's in between. There's more doors to open with Hancock and some people would like to see them opened. Also, a Hancock Trilogy is a much more appealling idea than raping I am legend anymore than they have already, with talk off a sequal/prequal. Its a sci-fi horror classic and it deserves the same respect Oldboy got in that films first movie treatment

Sorry if it feels like i went off track there, It would be better to see Hancock 2 than a new American Oldboy unless it was animated or another I am legend film with probably even less to do with the book than the first one.

Hurry up with Sin City 2. Again there is room for improvement

Bryan Singer staying attached to superman is not a bad idea for warner brother's, he wont let them Hire Joel Shumacher or someone like that, if Singer's not Directing that is.

I think Hancock NEEDS a sequel. There's so much they didn't explain in that movie, I think we deserve a fully-realized story, thank-you-very-much.

i refused to see hancock because it is a spin off of superman. yeah i bet the movie is different but look at it from an ousiders look. a man who can a fly, has super strength, fights crime. its basically a bad superman who has attitude problems a.k.a. superman on red cryptonite. its a movie about if superman had been black.
