Guess What, Tarantino Talks a Third 'Kill Bill'

I know, nothing new here... move along...

Here we have a short tidbit from MTV as they spoke with Quentin Tarantino about a third film in the Kill Bill franchise and his confidence is always encouraging, but his delivery is rarely reliable as reporting on Tarantino projects has taught me a lot over the past six years.

So, when he says, "There's no script; there are just ideas and notes," I believe him and I think most everyone else does as well. However, I would be willing to bet hard cash Tarantino has ideas and notes on hundreds of films, so to say that about another Kill Bill is like saying the sky is blue. But, when he adds, "I won't do that next, but it could very well be the thing I do after next," I get a bit more of a feeling we are on to something as this is Tarantino backing away from saying "yes" to the film and instead thinking about what he is saying rather than just blurting something out with his usual excitement.

He also adds, "It wouldn't be Kill Bill, it would be Volume 3 of the story of the Bride." Which is understandable considering Bill… is dead.

So when should we expect this film, if ever? I would wager a guess we are at least two years away from Tarantino's next film, which would put a potential third film in the Kill Bill franchise four or five years away. So mark your calendars for 2014 or 2015 and make sure Uma Thurman is available a year or so in advance. Oh boy, the wait is killing me.

I have trouble escaping the feeling that two of my favorite movies are going to be ruined.

But then I remember that Tarantino will still be behind it, and I feel…. a little better.

There is a bit too much sarcasm in this piece for me. Not because it isn't warranted. But because QT is a filmmaker that, despite talking about films more than making them, when he delivers he really DELIVERS.

I'd watch The Bride 3, The Vegas Brothers movie. Animated prequels. Cowgirls in Sweden. Inglorious Basterds 2,3,7.

Doesn't matter, I just want Tarantino working.

I want another original story from Tarantino, But I really see Kill Bill as one film. If Tarantino puts his energy behind another Kill Bill it should be great, no doubt

1992 Reservoir Dogs
1994 Pulp Fiction
1997 Jackie Brown
2003 Kill Bill (it's one big movie people)
2007 Deathproof
2009 Inglorious Basterds (do I smell Best Director/Picture Nominations?)

Let's face it, the guy can do no wrong (yes, all you detractors out there, Deathproof, though not as classic as Pulp Fiction or Kill Bill, is still a really good (though not great) film). I'd be willing to watch anything directed by QT. Given the fact that Kill Bill is one of the director's greatest works ever, I see no reason for him not to return to the world of The Bride, aka Black Mamba, aka Beatrix Kiddo.

Paul Greengrass revisited Jason Bourne for a third time with fantastic results. Even George Lucas, while struggling with Episode I and even more so with Episode II, somehow managed to turn his finale (Revenge of the Sith) into a very good piece of cinematic entertainment.

While it is true that most threequels don't live up to the originals (or sequels for that matter: hello Revenge of the Fallen), anyone else still trying to forget Emo Spidey?, this is Quentin Tarantino we are talking about here.

I'm on board.

R.I.P. David Carradine (aka Bill)
