Gilliam and Ledger Open 'The Imaginarium'

Actor and director team again

Heath Ledger

I am not a huge Terry Gilliam fan, but I know he has a rabid fanbase out there that is most likely excited to hear he will be back to work after the disappointing (and dreadful if you ask me) Tideland.

Gilliam is reteaming with his Brothers Grimm star Heath Ledger for The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus over at Samuel Hadida's Davis Film. Ledger will be joined in the cast by Christopher Plummer, Tom Waits, Lily Cole, Andrew Garfield and Verne Troyer.

The film is described as a modern-day fantasy adventure that centers on Dr. Parnassus (Plummer), who has the gift of guiding the imaginations of others. With his traveling theater troupe, Parnassus offers audience members the chance to transcend reality by passing through a magical mirror.

Gilliam co-wrote the screenplay with Charles McKeown and shooting is scheduled to begin in December in London and then move to Vancouver.
