Gibson and Allen Sign Up for 'Death Race'

Not major casting news but whatever

At Comic Con it was entirely impossible to get to everything and it looks like MTV managed to get some news out of Resident Evil: Extinction writer Paul Anderson that others didn't in regards to his next film Death Race.

Death Race is a remake of the 1975 David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone feature centering on a brutal cross-country car race of the future where pedestrians are run down for points. The champion of said race has a change of heart while being hounded by rivals and a conspiracy seeking to stop the race.

Jason Statham was already confirmed for the cast and now Tyrese Gibson and Joan Allen are joining the fray.

Anderson told MTV News, "[Joan Allen] kicks the most ass out of everybody." Allen, as many of you may know, will be on screen this weekend in The Bourne Ultimatum.

Death Race is currently eyeing a September 26, 2008 release.
