Gerard Butler's Third Movie in Two Days

This is what a hit does for a career

Let's recap here… Since the release of 300 and the $208 million it made Gerard Butler has been cast as Snake Plissken in the remake of Escape from New York and just yesterday we learned that he not only was cast in Game for the two dudes that brought us Crank but he also joined The Untouchables: Capone Rising. Now, we learn that he will star opposite Jodie Foster and Abigail Breslin in Nim's Island for husband-wife directing team Jennifer Flackett and Mark Levin

The film is based on Wendy Orr's kids tome of the same name, which revolves around a girl who lives on a tropical isle with her father, a scientist whose boat runs into trouble one day, leaving the girl to fend for herself on the island. She begins emailing the author of the book she is reading, and with the author's help, is able to manage. Trio ultimately unites to save the island from careless tour companies.

Filming is set to begin in late July in Australia from the screenplay adapted by Flackett and Levin. An April 28 release is already planned through Fox Walden.
