In anticipation of the August 15th nationwide opening of Freddy vs. Jason, New Line Cinema is bringing together two of the movies' most iconic and notorious madmen, Freddy Krueger (from the Nightmare on Elm Street series) and Jason Voorhees (from the Friday the 13th series) for a face-to-face confrontation for the first time in a pre-fight press conference. This unprecedented clash of the horror titans will take place Tuesday, July 15th, 2003, at 10:00 am in the Jubilee Theater at Bally's Las Vegas in Las Vegas.

Emceed by famed fight announcer Michael Buffer ("Let's get ready to rumble!"), the event will showcase all the excitement and posturing that leads up to the greatest grudge matches and prizefights. Freddy and Jason will take part in the traditional weigh-in and take questions from the audience. Bally's Las Vegas will also reveal their fun odds on the fight. With Jason having 127 victims under his belt (as opposed to Freddy's 30), he would seem to possess a slight edge. However, when these two meet for the first time, anything is possible!

New Line Cinema presents Freddy vs. Jason, starring Robert Englund (reprising his classic role of Freddy Krueger) as well as Monica Keena, Jason Ritter, Katharine Isabelle, Ken Kirzinger (as Jason) and Kelly Rowland (of the hit musical group Destiny's Child). Directed by Ronny Yu, the Hong Kong-based filmmaker whose credits include The Bride With White Hair and Bride of Chucky, and produced by Sean Cunningham (creator and producer of the Friday the 13th series), Freddy vs. Jason is written by Damian Shannon and Mark J. Swift.

It has been almost 10 years since one of the scariest horror characters of all time, Freddy Krueger, invaded the dreams of a generation to exact his deadly form of revenge and murder. Now, with a terrified town in the middle, Freddy has entered into the dreams of another master of evil — the unstoppable Jason Voorhees — plunging cinema's two greatest titans of terror into a battle to end all battles.
