Fox Preps 'Alien' Prequel with Carl Rinsch Directing
Who knows, it could be good

A couple of days ago an assumed rumor started at Bloody-Disgusting saying Fox was preparing a prequel story to Ridley Scott's sci-fi/horror classic Alien with Michael Costigan, Ridley Scott and Tony Scott aboard to produce and an unknown named Carl Rinsch set to direct. However, what was assumed to be a rumor from an anonymous tipster has now proven to be true.
Collider.com caught up with Tony Scott at the press junket for Scott's upcoming remake The Taking of Pelham 123 (6/12) and asked if the rumors were true.
"Yes," Scott replied. "Carl Rinsch is going to do the prequel to Alien. He's one of our directors at our company."
When asked about a planned start of production Scott answered loosely saying, "Hopefully the end of the year," but that by no means is anything to set in stone.
If you are interested in checking out some of Rinsch's work you can view his commercial reel here.
