Wow, Brad, a little cynical, are we? I can understand some of the hostility towards Flash Gordon, as it is very cheesy...but that was the point! You can just tell from the dialog that the filmmakers were trying to go for the 1940s attitude of America toward evil. What I really don't get is why you're trashing Sahara so badly. That was a fun movie...even though it's similar to National Treasure.

Brad Brevet: who do you think u are? You have no human right to say any word about this brilliant film! You have no impressionability, so you don't "feel" this movie at all. It's simply not for you. Maybe you don't understand, but this "cheesy" fabulousness, what you reproach, is on the place, it's an element of comedy-style. And whole this picture, in perfect connection with extra music, makes an amazing feeling to me.
It's so original, all scenes are so classic... this movie has a heart and soul!

Sorry Brad, disagree with you. I love entertaining escapism. I would love to see an updated version of this! I was in my teens when I saw Flash Gordon, and loved every second of it, remains one of my favourites, the attack of the hawk men is epic."What do you mean Flash Gordon is alive? Open Fire! All weapons!" Sound and music was incredible and the sets and costumes still outlandish today. Art direction was very good, c'mon! Sarah has also grown on me too, I was gutted to hear the sequel is under dispute and stalled, they pulled a Panama!
