Fisher Sells Cookies, Slays Brownie
Wedding Crashers chick finds a new comedy with a bite
Now here's a comedy I wouldn't hate checking out. Isla Fisher tackled a more serious role earlier this year in The Lookout but she's heading back to the comedy arena with The Cookie Queen. You might remember Isla as Rachel McAdams's whack-job sister in The Wedding Crashers, a movie I thought she was great in. Well she's gotten herself a role I think she's perfect for:
The story follows Claire "Cookie" Taylor (Fisher), who holds the record for all-time girl scout cookie sales. When she learns that a precocious fifth grader threatens to end her 20-year reign as cookie queen, she sets out to sabotage her.
This movie could be horrible, but I like the kind of perverse premise. Any time adults try to "sabotage" kids, I'm usually game. Puppies too.
Fisher, who has a whole slate of films set for release such as Andy Samberg's first attempt to leave Saturday Night Live – Hot Rod – will also produce the film for Universal Pictures.
