First Looks at 'Fame' Remake, Logo Comparison and Release Date

Where's the audience for this one?

I have just received a couple of treats regarding the new version of Fame coming from MGM Studios. This includes our first three looks at the production of the film including the new logo, which I have featured above, side-by-side with the logo from Alan Parker's 1980 Oscar-winning original (Original Song and Original Score).

The remake is directed by Kevin Tancharoen and is said to be an updated version of the 1980 musical, which centered on the students of the New York Academy of Performing Arts. The new film will focus on kids at a High School for the Performing Arts and features the talents of unknown actors in order to gain the true to life meaning of being at the beginning of their career.

I have also learned the film is currently eyeing a September 25, 2009 release and as these shots show some of the musical scenes, principal photography is set to begin at the end of November.

I am so excited for this movie. I honestly have to say it's about time we brought up a couple of these musicals for this generation. It's looks like it will be very succesful with a good storyline and great fresh actors to play the chaaracters. This movie will be huge!!
