I know regular readers get upset when I post items related to the Twilight universe so I do my best to ensure they are posts that don't revolve around rumors or mild casting tidbits. However, when the first official still from the film is released and it's not a scan from a magazine or a digital camera picture of a person holding a magazine that has the first official image from the film I think that warrants a post. So, with that said, here is the first official still from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse the third installment in the franchise, which wrapped principal photography this past October and will hit theaters on June 30, 2010.
Personally I am curious to see how this one turns out primarily considering David Slade of 30 Days of Night and Hard Candy is directing. His first two films were legitimate and this is obviously him taking a paycheck because it is such a wildly different direction and not in an experimental way. To be honest it's a truly baffling career decision, but I have to believe there is a reason he did it other than money… I just have to…

In the third film, Bella (Kristen Stewart) once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward (Robert Pattinson) and her friendship with Jacob (Taylor Lautner) – knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. fur hur shur……rob is gorgeous but i think they need to do his hair exactly how it was in twilight, its a bit too long.
Well everybody likes a paycheck- but (spoiler) this novel has an army of bloodthirsty (pun intended) newborn vampires who are after Bella- so I think he is a great one to direct. And a it's a significant challenge for him to balance the evil side of the story with the romance story – this book has much more action (really). It will be interesting to see his touch on this movie.
well to answer your question about the sparkling….they are sitting in the shade…he isn't in direct sunlight…if you watched new moon when edward is standing in the doorway at the vultorri he didn't sparkle then until he was in direct sunlight…hope this helped :)

The director for New Moon totally ruined the love story. Edward and Bella looked like two zombies on the screen. His focus was action and special effects. It will be interesting to see if this one does the same. The make-up, hair, and wardrobe of Edward in New Moon was just TERIBLE.
Does anyone know where this movie premier will be located at in hollywood? if you do, let me know. thanks
He is sitting in the shadow, so he has not to sparkle. I hope that in the Eclipse will be accent on the love story, not just on the action even though in the book are more action scenes. I believe , that scenes will be very good but according my opinion the most important thing is to show power of love between Edward and Bella.
I Enjoy The Books But To Find Out David Slade Was Attached To Direct One Of The Films Is The Only Reason I Watched The First Two. The First Movie Was Not Good, The Second Was Better But Still Not Great But I'm Sure Slade Will Finally Deliver Something To The Film Series. But Even Though I Enjoy Both, Twilight And True Blood Are My Least Favorite Vampire Stories Of All The Vampire Movies I've Seen Or Books I've Read But I've Always Been A Fan Of Almost Everything Vampire. But These Two Stories Are Changing What Vampires Have Always Been For Me. Changing Terrible Monsters Into Heart Throbs. Making Them Love Stories Instead Of Horror Stories. I'd Like To See A Top Ten Vampire Movies List On Here. Get Your Opinion On This Matter.

They really played down Rob's good looks in New Moon. I hope they let him show his gorgeousness again for Eclipse.
CH had the focus right for the first movie. Edward's otherworldly beauty and incredible charisma is key to the book's appeal. Rob's looks and charm was the real world key to translating that onto film. Downplaying those things is a mistake.
Eclipse must accomplish a balancing act. There is the potential for a much darker, grim, and angst filled film, as well as room for a LOT of incredible action scenes. But there are also some steamy scenes between Bella and Edward, full of unfulfilled desire, and those are some of the most awaited scenes for the readers.

i hope that this movie will have a more on the stories of their past lives and include more people that was in the book. i would like to see more action especially with the fight against the newborn vamps.
twilight was good, new moon was ok.., but ive been anticipating the release of eclipse.. i hope that slade will deliver more..
I've read all four books and each has its own character and identity, as to the movies, I saw all two, and I like the first Twilight much better than Newmoon. I've seen the movie first before I was able to read the books. The reason why it encouraged me to read the books because, I was so amazed on the complexities of the story as presented by CH. I hope twilight 3 will be as amazing as the first in the big screen if not more.
Very true Bella and Edward hardly showed a connection in the end of New Moon they needed to show how much they love each other,how they are addicted to each other and how badly they missed each other and well they cannot live without each other. . Chris W only concentrated on promoting Jacob. Finally its Bella and Edwards love story and how they over come all the obstacles in their life to be together Jacob is just one of the obstacles hope Summit remembers this . Hope Eclipse brings back Bella and Edwards magic created in twilight.
Also Edwards get up in New Moon was really sad he looked older he did not look 17 yrs old he looked terrific and attractive in Twilight.I think Catherine needs to be back for BD.
Well I hope Summit reads this I read a part of the Eclipse script I was very upset to see Bella being rude to Edward she actually rides of with Jacob right in front of Edwards eyes no way Bella would do so she only thinks of going to Jacob when Edward is not around gone for hunting please edit or change the scene its not at all like this in the book. She will never ever leave Edward and go to Jacob she will never tell Edward to go away their is a dialogue in the script she tells Edward " you should go no rush I am good here" she will never tell Edward to go and not come back soon she finds it difficult living even a single day without him that is a part of their love that has to be proved in Eclipse and why they need to be together only emergency circumtances can push them apart like Edward has to leave her and go hunting.
She chooses him becoz she cannot live without him she can never just leave Edward in the middle of the road in front of so many fellow students onlookers and go with Jacob. Well she tricks Alice and goes with Jacob in the book which is ok.
I've read all four books and i hope that they will in the movie successfully show beautiful, strong love of Edward and Bella. In this third book ,Eclipse, we have so many strong and romantic scenes of their love and battle scenes,with so many persons.Through this scenes we can see the greatness of their love. Edward and Bela are the main persons . According to my opinion, they just have stick to the book.

@Tarika: yea i didnt like the change in edwards look nore did i like the distance between him and bella.i do think that they shouldve kept the movie closer to the book version of new moon.there are some scences that are in the book that i think would have really been great to have in the movie between bella and edward.
@AP: lol this is true.they couldve done better than that.really they shouldve just left edwards look the same.he wasnt as appealing in new moon,but jake on the other hand was hot!lol

@Tarika: your just probaly team edward doesnt let u see what the book is about and why there so much emotion between jacob and bella. edward left her thinking it was the best for her. biggest mistake he did cause made bella fall for jacob. he was there when she was hurting and of course her obsession for edward has her in denial..but i hope they show in eclipse what i read in the book she finally show him she also loves him. in the book jacob is the true gentlemen because he loves her so much he wants to see her happy not torn apart between him and edward so he make the choice to back down.so she can be happy.the movie would just be to boring if its all about edward and bella.jacob also should have credit. in the book ,it gives him a chance for us to see things in his point of view the books are really good. i hope they dont change to much and yes there is also other characters that should have a part in the movie.
