Finally Pacino's 'Minutes' are Ticking

Three added to film as it nears production.

It seems like I have had Al Pacino's next film, 88 Minutes in my database for ages. First James Foley was attached to direct and then word came in that Jon Avnet took over helming duties and now finally a cast is surrounding Al.

The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Alicia Witt, Leelee Sobieski and Neal McDonough have signed on to star opposite Pacino in the crime thriller and filming is set to begin Saturday in Vancouver.

The film focuses on a college professor (Pacino) who moonlights as a forensic psychiatrist for the FBI and receives a death threat claiming that he has only has 88 minutes to live. In order to save his own life, he must use all of his skills and training to narrow down the possible suspects, who include a disgruntled student, a jilted former lover, and a serial killer who is already on death row.

Witt will play a teaching assistant and the romantic interest to Pacino's character. Sobieski will play one of Pacino's students, and McDonough will play a death row inmate whom Pacino's character suspects is orchestrating his murder, which he has been told will occur in 88 minutes.
