Ferrell Basketball Comedy More than Rumor

Set to film in February

A few days ago we reported a rumor in which Will Ferrell would apparently be part of a basketball comedy about the American Basketball Association. Today Production Weekly confirmed the rumor saying that Ferrell would be re-teaming with Old School screenwriter Scot Armstrong for Semi-Pro.

The film is set in the world of 1970s basketball and is eyeing a February production start, in Minneapolis.

The report also goes on to say that Armstrong is also penning screenplays for Elf and Old School sequels, both for Ferrell to star.

The Maryland Nighthawks of the American Basketball Association have invited Will Ferrell to tryout for their team for the upcoming 06-07 season. They hope to give him a real taste of the ABA before he starts shooting his movie. Check the Nighthawks out at http://www.marylandnighthawks.com
