Felicity Joins Third ‘Mission’

Keri Russell gets preferencial treatment.

It is never surprising when an actor gets some form of preferencial treatment by a director considering past working relationships and I am sure a lot of that played a role in Keri Russell landing a role in the upcoming Paramount Pictures actioner Mission: Impossible 3.

Russell will portray a trainee agent mentored by Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt character in the film as it begins production on July 18th in Italy.

Russell and director J.J. Abrams worked together back in 1998 as Keri was the featured star of the Abrams created WB teen drama “Felicity.” Her role in Mission is the one vacated by the one-time attached Scarlett Johansson and she joins a rather large cast of names such as Ving Rhames, Michelle Monaghan, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

Mission: Impossible 3 is expected to hit theaters on May 5, 2006.
