EXCLUSIVE: ‘Art House Movie: There Will Be Farts’ Script Pages
You will not believe it when you see these...
You may not recognize the names Jason Friedberg, Aaron Seltzer, or Craig Mazin, but you’ve probably seen their calling cards on movie trailers for Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans or Superhero Movie. Yes, these are the guys mentioned in the trailer credits as “brought to you by a couple of the guys who wrote one or more of the Scary Movie movies.” That’s not a direct quote. But I know you get the idea.
Well, as I am sure you have heard, this weekend we get yet another installment in the _________ Movie franchise and this time it is Superhero Movie written and directed by Craig Mazin (Scary Movie 3 and Scary Movie 4). What you may not have known is that Mazin, along with Jason Friedberg (Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, Date Movie) and Aaron Seltzer (Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, Date Movie), has been working on a script for an all new kind of spoof movie and as you will soon see, this trio has completely revolutionized the very idea of what a screenplay can be.
RopeofSilicon has obtained the first two pages of the script for Art House Movie: There Will Be Farts, a movie that will set out to poke fun at such Oscar fare as There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, Michael Clayton, Juno and many more…
The pages we have received do carry the note that they are part of the “Final Shooting Draft” as of 3/19/08, but my sources tell me this is most likely not true. Word is that this film will only go forward should Superhero Movie manage decent numbers at the box this coming weekend, and in lieu of the intensely stupid protest of the film by Star Wars fans I expect this thing to go forward.

Hopefully once the weekend is up we will be able to bring you news on whether or not the film will be moving forward. However, for now, enjoy a glimpse at a side of movie making we rarely get to see.
