'Evil' and 'AVP' Leader Heads to 'Castlevania'

Guess what... another vid adaptation.

Yup, here it is, another videogame adaptation in the works and this time it is going to be down by a guy who apparently knows what he is going (at least better than Uwe Boll does).

Crystal Sky Pictures has bought the rights to Konami's old school vid Castlevania a game that has stood the test of time, and they have set Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil, Alien vs. Predator) to helm the feature.

The film will focus on the origins of Dracula and the uprising of the Belmont Clan, a vampire-slaying family who supposedly become humanity's last hope.

This announcement comes only five days before the latest installment in the "Castlevania" series is set to hit game consoles. The latest version, "Castlevania: Curse of Darkness," hits on Nov. 8.

Production will apparently begin in mid-2006 with a 2007 release anticipated.

Whether Anderson will have anything to do with the script was not mentioned.
