'Everwood' Writer Directing 'Green Lantern'

The comics just keep on comin'

It appears Warner Bros. is trying to turn into Fox as they have now greenlit Green Lantern, yet another DC Comics superhero. This is on top of the upcoming superhero ensemble feature Justice League and The Flash, not to mention the upcoming The Dark Knight and the possibility of another Superman film, currently titled Man of Steel.

The Green Lantern will be directed by "Everwood" writer/producer Greg Berlanti who will also pen the script with Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green.

"Green Lantern" began at DC in 1940, telling the story of Hal Jordan, a second-generation test pilot. Jordan is an ordinary man who has been charged with defending a sector of the universe.

Of course, this could turn into the debacle that is currently The Flash, which just got assigned its third director in Wedding Crashers helmer David Dobkin. Chances Green Lantern sees the big screen soon are slim, unless Berlanti, Guggenheim and Green can turn in something special.
