Enter and ‘Join the 300′ Challenge!

Win tons of prizes and goodies from 300

Are you ready for one hell of a killer online competition? In celebration of the home video release of 300 Warner Home Video has established the interactive online site JoinThe300.com and is giving away one of two trips to the upcoming Comic-Con International in San Diego, California, where the two winners will compete head-to-head for the grand prize – a once in a lifetime trip to visit the set of Zack Snyder’s upcoming film Watchmen. On top of that there will be random prize giveaways to fans just for registering for the web site, including 300 DVD mini posters signed by Zack Snyder and featuring exclusive art not available anywhere else, iPod shuffles, and 300 DVDs.

Part of the contest includes an online scavanger hunt and RopeofSilicon is part of it along with SuperHeroFlix.com, MovieWeb.com, TheManRoom.com, DigitallyObsessed.com and EntertainmentWorld.com. On these sites and on RopeofSilicon are hidden items and as a Spartan joining the hunt you must find the missing gear. On RopeofSilicon you will be looking for the gauntlets featured to the right and they could be on any one of the pages on RopeofSilicon. To see what the other sites are hiding click here.

There are several other tasks to complete on your way to becoming the Most Valiant Spartan, missions ranging from creating 300 video mash-ups to answering trivia questions about the film to creating your own television commercial for the film. Tasks will be assigned escalating point values based on difficulty, and all contestants earning 300 points or more will be entered in a random drawing for the trip to Comic-Con International convention in San Diego from July 26th – July 29th, and I only hope it is a loyal RopeofSilicon visitor that wins because we will be there covering every minute of it and it would be great to meet some of you.

This is, of course, in celebration of the upcoming DVD, HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc release of 300 which hits on July 31. For more on the DVD click here, and to get started on the contest click here.
