Alex O'Loughlin can act circles around Chiklis and a lot of other actors too. I had watched The Shield previously to season 6 but found it to be a bit to violent for me. But, when I found out Alex was in season 6, I watched every episode and now I've bought the DVD. Alex is amazing in everything he does. I think The Shield underused him and wished his character would have been fleshed out more. He could have lead this show. I totally agree with you.
