Downey Jr. and Baruchel Join Stiller’s ‘Thunder’
Duo cast in Ben Stiller directed comedy
This is the comedy flick Tom Cruise was rumored to have been interested in, but instead he is doing The Hardy Men with Ben Stiller, but not before Stiller directs Tropic Thunder.
The Hollywood Reporter tells us that Robert Downey Jr. and Jay Baruchel are set to star in the feature for Stiller and DreamWorks Pictures with shooting set to start in July from the script penned by Stiller, Justin Theroux and Etan Cohen.
In the film, everything goes wrong during the making of a big-budget war movie, and the actors end up becoming the commandos they are playing. Downey will play Kirk Lazarus, the greatest actor of his generation and a four-time Oscar winner. Baruchel will play Kevin Sandusky, an unknown actor on the set.
