Djimon Hounsou Will ‘Get Some’

Another chance for him to take on a real role

Djimon Hounsou has rightly been nominated for two Oscars and is pretty much guaranteed to take home the gold hardware one of these years, at least he needs to, as he is certainly one of the best actors we have out there. Last year he was fantastic in Blood Diamond and he is moving away from the poor African fisherman role to a new drama for Jeff Wadlow.

The film is called Get Some and centers on a rebellious teen, portrayed by Sean Faris, who’s coerced into an underground fight club amid difficulties in adapting to his new high school. Chris Hauty and Robert Munic penned the script. Also joining the cast is Cam Gigandet who played Kevin Volchok on “The O.C.”

The film is set to begin in July in Los Angeles and Florida.

Oh, and for you dance fans Summit Entertainment is not only producing Get Some, but is going to be getting to work on Step Up 2, which will most likely be a direct-to-video release following up last year’s film that starred Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan.
