Disney’s ‘The Princess and the Frog’ Teaser Trailer

It's back to 2-D for a second folks...

Ah look at it, just marvel in the fact that not everything has to be made by computers these days. Disney has revealed the teaser trailer to The Princess and the Frog and it reminds me of what great animation used to be. For some reason with the introduction of CG animated films it became taboo to make quality 2-D animated films.

Then films like Madagascar, Chicken Little and The Barnyard were released and a few folks remembered, “Hey, those movies such as Aladdin, Snow White and Beauty and the Beast were pretty good! Didn’t one of them become the first animated film nominated for a Best Picture Oscar?” And now we have The Princess and the Frog, an animated film about Maddy, a young African-American girl living amid the charming elegance and grandeur of the fabled French Quarter. From the heart of Louisiana’s mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn.

The teaser trailer was released on the newly launched official site and is featured below. The film hits theaters next Christmas.

It looks cute. The Little Mermaid was the first movie I fell in love with as a child and I am happy that 2d animation is back. If only for a second. I hope it is good.
