Did Bruno Dupe Affleck and Did He Disrupt All of Kansas?

Sacha Baron Cohen's latest is gonna have trouble staying clandestine

Cohen as Bruno
An article at SlashFilm got me to thinking, perhaps it is worth discussing sightings of Bruno (Sacha Baron Cohen), but I wondered if it was necessary to discuss possible sightings... Thanks to one of SlashFilm's readers perhaps it wasn't a "possiple" sighting in as much as it was an actual sighting of Cohen as the gay fashionista German Bruno as he wreaks havoc on the United States public.

The first time I got to hearing about Bruno was actually from a site I beg you all to visit if you haven't done so already, Film Drunk. Lance over there says a shit load of funny stuff and also broke a couple of possible Bruno sightings from Kansas... Yup, Bruno is torturing the Midwest as not only was a film crew was allowed to film in the lobby of Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport but Pastor Greg Smith of Central Community Church, also in Kansas, was a victim of what is believed to be the same crew.

The first bit comes via Kansas.com in which they say the Wichita airport gave permission to a film crew that was supposedly filming a "European man" visiting America and then the crew stripped down to their tight short shorts and began dancing in the lobby of Wichita's Mid-Continent Airport. The airport has since changed their policies regarding commercial filming, but the name Bruno was never specifically mentioned in the article. However, my only reason for posting this article is because Slash Film is actually carrying video of the Witchita prank, check it out here.

The second article out of Kansas gave me a hearty laugh as Pastor Greg Smith and his church averted humiliation as they caught "crew members making preparations to cover the security cameras before attempting to pull off their prank". Word is the members were dressed "biblically" and covered with chains. Unfortunately the article has been changed since its original publication, but Film Drunk didn't drop the original words:

Who knows what the crew was up to. But one thing Pastor Smith knows, "I don't want anyone to go through what we just went through. Or worse. Thankfully, God protected us."
Yup, God protected Pastor Smith from the film crew that was out to get them. Was it Bruno? We don't know, only the name Borat was mentioned in the article.

Finally we come to Slash Film's reference and I actually heard this one on the Howard Stern Show as Mike Walker of the National Enquirer came on for his Gossip Game and one of his "guess which one is fake" topics included a Bruno prank on Ben Affleck. The interview I believe happened at a red carpet event and Walker said Affleck was relaying the information to Sarah Silverman referring to it as the weirdest interview he had ever been in as the first question the interviewer asked was, "What do you think of N-word?" Walker was unwilling to use the word "niggers" fearing Stern's staff would use it against him but that was obviously what he was referring to. Silverman asked Affleck if the interviewer's name was Bruno to which Affleck said "Yes" and she let him in on the prank.

That's it for the sightings, but Slash does offer up the complete title for the film, which I had previously not heard... you ready for this... Brüno: Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable. And you thought Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan was long... and it is.
