DiCaprio Cheats on Scorsese with Ridley Scott

What up Leo? Found a new favorite director?

Leonardo DiCaprio

Just when you thought Leonardo DiCaprio was going to propose to Martin Scorsese and the duo would go on to make films together for the rest of their lives. Then Leo goes and signs on to star for Ridley Scott in Body of Lies, but that’s okay because he was still working with Marty on Shutter Island, but how can Marty overlook the fact that Leo and Ridley are now set to produce and star in and direct The Low Dweller with each other.

The Hollywood Reporter compares the dark thriller to such films as The History of Violence and No Country for Old Men, written by insurance salesman turned screenwriter, Brad Inglesby. Lucky for Brad, working on a script in his spare time has now earned him an extra $650,000 against $1.1 million and he hasn’t even set foot in Hollywood.

The film is set in Indiana in the mid-1980s, the movie centers on a man (DiCaprio) trying to assimilate into society after he’s released from jail, only to find someone from his past pursuing him to settle a score. In addition to the pursuer, a third male character and a female love interest are said to figure prominently in the script.

Relativity Media picked up the rights to the film and is considering whether they want to produce it themselves or shop it around at the studios. Both Warners and Sony showed interest before Relativity won out.
