Dennis Hopper's Son Takes Lead in Wes Craven's '25/8'
New horror taps young blood
Wes Craven is heading back behind the lens and he is taking Dennis Hopper's offspring with him as Henry Lee Hopper will play the lead role in the horror thriller 25/8 for Rogue Pictures. The film will mark Hopper's professional acting debut.
Joining Hopper will be Denzel Whitaker, Shareeka Epps and Emily Meade. Hopper will play Bug, one of seven teens haunted by a serial killer who supposedly died when they were born 15 years earlier. The film takes place over the course of a day as the mystery of who (or what) is stalking the small-town high schoolers unfolds.
Craven met Hopper at a party and after talking Craven said he fit the role of the initially naive, innocent Bug who is changed by strange events, and Craven invited Hopper to audition.
Casting aside, I am curious about that title; 25/8. There has to be some other-worldly aspect to that right? I mean we are talking an extra hour and an extra day in our traditional 24/7 format. So what's the deal?
Anyway, the Hollywood Reporter article actually discusses a bit of Hopper's upbringing as he was born to one of Hollywood's most noted wild men. It's actually mildly interesting. If you are curious click here for a quick read.
