David Duchovny in Rehab for Sex Addiction

Nope, it's not drugs or alcohol

David Duchovny

In a strange bit of irony, David Duchovny has entered a rehabilitation facility for sex addiction. Duchovny recently starred in The X-Files: I Want to Believe, but his regular paycheck comes from playing a sex-obsessed character on the Showtime series “Californication,” which earned the actor a Golden Globe Award in 2008. The show’s second season begins September 28.

Via his publicist Duchovny released a statement saying, “I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

The statement made by his lawyer, Stanton “Larry” Stein, to People said, “I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction.”

Duchovny is married to Tea Leoni who stars in the upcoming flick Ghost Town, but there wasn’t any elaboration on the report, which is to say there was no talk of adultry.

Leoni and Duchovny have two children.
