David D'Andrea's Fantastic Fest 'Antichrist' Art

I simply can't wait to see this film

IFC Films just sent over the below piece of art for Lars von Trier's upcoming controversial film Antichrist. The poster was designed by artist David D'Andrea specifically for Fantastic Fest '09.

Antichrist hits theaters October 23rd, and will be available on demand Oct. 28th. The film stars Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg as a married couple who retreat to a cabin in the woods after losing their young son. There, they run into some terrifying occurrences. Dafoe's character is a therapist trying to help his wife deal with her grief, and it's when that grief runs wild that things start to go weird.

That's an impressive-looking poster. Speaking of impressive posters, did you ever hear anything from TCM regarding the Summer Under the Stars posters, Brad? Many of those are quite amazing as well. I know they did a competition so people could win a handful of the posters, but I don't think I won, and would love to get my hands on those.

I watched this movie over the weekend and it was simply disturbing! Fantastic filmmaking by Von Trier. Defiantly worth a second viewing to better understand what exactly happened. I shall not spoil anything. I can see why they are calling it controversial on everything attached to it!

Wait, what do you mean it'll be available on demand Oct 28? Does that mean it's not getting a proper theater release? That would be awful! I want it to come to a theater near me, and I want to see it on the big screen!

@Chris138: Yeah, there are disgusting things in it. But I think it's also a challenging, mysterious, bold and even entertaining movie. You should see it. It's a shame that people only mention the violence in it when there's much more to be discussed.
