Danny Boyle Wins the Director's Guild of America Award
Don't look so surprised...

The Director's Guild of America announced their winners tonight and to no one's surprise Danny Boyle won the DGA's Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film for Slumdog Millionaire. I know my latest Oscar predictions have Fincher predicted to win, but at the end of last week Tom O'Neil at Gold Derby asked for my prediction for the DGAs and I decided it was time to jump on board the Danny Boyle train all the way. So, along with 15 others, I predicted Boyle for the win. You can see O'Neil's write-up on it right here.
As always, the DGA reminds us the DGA's Award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film has traditionally served as a near-perfect barometer for the Academy Award for Best Director. Only six times since the DGA Award's inception in 1948 has the winner not gone on to receive the Academy Award for Best Director.
So, are we all locking it up for Danny Boyle at this point? I am.
