You know, I like Danny Boyle. He's made great films like The Beach, 28 Days Later (and produced and directed a scene for 28 Weeks Later), Sunshine, and Trainspotting.

But this movie is horrible. It's stupid, has a really dum plot, and is just plain bad.
There's not one redeeming quality.
A movie about a gameshow was a stupid ide and it's a really boring movie.

But since these are somewhat the same people (those in charge of the movie business, whether it be writing, directing, critic, etc.) who gave The Dark Knight (not to mention Iron, The Incredible Hulk, Hellboy 2, Quantam Of Solace, or Twilight) no nominations, you can only expect something like this to happen.

Danny Boyle deserves an award, but not for the worst movie I've seen in years.
Here's to hoping he saves himself with 28 Months Later, in the works.

@Seiko: This is the kind of shit that drives me nuts: people like you who speak in absolutes when expressing your opinion. Slumdog is not a "horrible" movie. You *think* it's a horrible movie. A movie about a game show isn't a stupid idea, you "think" it's a stupid idea. I'm really, really tired of people speaking for everyone with absolute certainty simply because they liked or disliked something. We've gone from everyone having an opinion to everyone speaking for everybody. Personally, I prefer it when opinions are like assholes, where everyone has one, and not everyone being one.

Can someone tell how "Bolt" made it over "Waltz with Bashir" for best animated movie? How can the best foreign film not be a top three animated movie?

When was the last time that a movie has taken top prizes at all 4 guild awards? I'm assuming slumdog will win at the WGA next weekend, and if it does, is it even possible that it won't win best picture? I'm assuming there's major overlap between the guilds and the academy.
