Daniel Day-Lewis and Sophia Loren Snaps from Marshall's 'Nine'

I want to see this film now!

Let's forget about superhero movies for a second and bask in the glory of a new shot from Rob Marshall's upcoming musical adaptation of Federico Fellini's 8 1/2, Nine featuring co-stars Sophia Loren and Daniel Day-Lewis that popped up over on celebuzz. Their gallery consists of four additional shots from the set in Rome.

In the pisc Daniel Day-Lewis, who plays the middle-aged Italian film director the Broadway adaptation focuses on, is seen driving a classic car around the Italian capital with Sophia Loren, who plays his "Mamma."

Nine was listed as my #3 most anticipated film of 2009 and I am chomping at the bit for that November 25 release date to roll around. It is one film I am not sure I will be able to avoid watching the trailer for as I can't wait to see just what kind of visual style Marshall is going to bring to this film. He has brought along with him Chicago and Memoirs of a Geisha cinematographer Dion Beebe as well as set decorator Gordon Sim so I expect it to be impressive.

On top of that his cast includes Marion Cotillard, Penélope Cruz, Sophia Loren, Nicole Kidman, Judi Dench, Kate Hudson, Daniel Day-Lewis and Stacy Ferguson. I really don't know what more to say.

You can check out celebuzz's gallery here and get more on the film on our official page right here. The film's synopsis follows.

The musical, Nine, was inspired by the Federico Fellini film 8½ and focused on Guido (Day-Lewis) a film director stuck in neutral as he tries to make a film while haunted by the demands of all the women in his life, including a wife, mistress and even his deceased mother.

Love Daniel Day-Lewis enough to see this, though I don't care for Marshall. I have zero expectations good or bad regarding this one, so that might be advantageous.

I cant wait to see marion cotillard. She has grown on me in the past year. i just saw an experimental showing of her next movie Public Enemies and she was amazing. She was the only female for about the first 75% of the movie, and I was suprised to see her hold her own against Bale and Deep. She was amazing. This should be no different, the role of Luisa Contini is a big one in the musical and i think she will pull it off amazingly.
