Cusack Checks into King Thriller ‘1408′

This just keeps getting better.

I think Dimension Films and director Mikael Hafstrom may have something big brewing as they have found a perfect leading man for the film adaptation of Stephen King’s novella 1408 in John Cusack.

Variety reports the news as Hafstrom is quoted saying, “This film is so much a one-man show… It’s quite a contained drama. It is a horror film if you want to put a label on it, but the way I see it, it’s much more an inner-journey of this character.”

The film centers on a debunker of paranormal occurrences who encounters real terror when he checks into notorious Room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel.

Hafstrom recently directed Derailed for The Weinstein Co. [unrated dvd review here].

1408 will begin filming this summer.
