Crudup Joins Mann’s ‘Public Enemies’

We are all looking forward to this movie right?

Billy Crudup

Seriously, when is the thought of another Michael Mann movie not something to get excited about? Even after the disappointment that was Miami Vice I am still on pins and needles to see this one, especially now that one of my favorite actors is joining the game. Billy Crudup has joined the cast and will play FBI director J. Edgar Hoover in Mann’s Public Enemies. I am sure the role is a small one, but hey, supporting roles filled by good actors just makes everything that much better if you ask me.

Also joining the cast is Stephen Lang, who will play Winstead, the leader of the Texas Rangers who joins the manhunt for John Dillinger (Johnny Depp) and his gang. Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard also star.

The film probably won’t see theaters until 2009, but if it is good enough who knows, maybe Universal will give it to us as a Christmas 2008 present.
