The story follows a group of friends from Paris to the coast at Cap Ferret near Bordeaux for their traditional summer holiday together. But the mood sobers as characters confess their innermost concerns.
Cotillard joins a cast made up of fellow French actors including Tell No One star Francois Cluzet, Benoit Magimel, Anne Marivin, Gilles Lelouche and Jean Dujardin.
The film is to begin shooting on August 3 for 12 weeks.
Up next for Marion Cotillard is Michael Mann's Public Enemies, followed by Rob Marshall's Nine and then Inception for Christopher Nolan.
