Comic Con Video: 'Iron Man 2' Panel Q&A Session

Fans asked and they answered

It seems there is something of a consensus around the Internet at the moment claiming the Comic Con panel for Iron Man 2 was the big winner this year, and considering Sunday's line-up is devoid of any movie content that could possibly touch it I have to assume the verdict of the masses is final. I, however, am not ready to crown the sequel the outright winner although the footage I already described did look good, but then again I am more impressed with the non-effects dialogue moments as it looks like Robert Downey Jr. will obviously bring the same gusto to the role of Tony Stark, but is going to need to be on his toes as I expect Sam Rockwell's short introduction as Justin Hammer is going to be one of the film's major highlights.

To this point I would probably say Alice in Wonderland was my favorite piece and even District 9 impressed me based on my expectations, but perhaps who the outright winner isn't as important as much as it appears to be a fact the highly anticipated Avatar presentation wasn't. I'll have to think on it and get back to you tomorrow in my Comic Con wrap-up. For now, let's get to the footage from the Iron Man 2 panel the headline promises.

What you will see is the complete Q&A session from the panel minus the footage, of course. The video lasts 22:18 and the included participants are director Jon Favreau, Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow), Don Cheadle (James 'Rhodey' Rhodes), Sam Rockwell (Justin Hammer) and Marvel executive Kevin Feige. Moderating the panel was Access Hollywood's Scott "Movie" Mantz who also moderated the 2012 and Zombieland presentations and was so bad at that panel to the point he insulted a commenter and when he came back on stage for Iron Man 2 was roundly booed in such a way you would have had to been there to believe it. Unfortunately I didn't get it on video, but believe me he deserved it.

Now… the video, and if you haven't read my recap of the footage click here to read it.

To set up what you will see early on in the video, Favreau put together a bit of a joke montage of footage and previewed it first, which is the reason for Downey's theatrics prior to the actual footage being shown.

Hey, just wondering…has "Iron Man 2" been made the official title for the film or is it just a stand in for now?

Great footage of the panel, Brad. I hope the trailer/footage releases soon; those of us who weren't lucky enough to be at Comic Con trust you and all the other movie news writers out there to post it the second it hits the net officially! :D

Brilliant work again Brad. I know this is off topic, but did you catch District 9? I heard they showed the whole movie at Comic Con?
