Clint Eastwood’s ‘Changeling’ Trailer is Here

How does it look to you?

The trailer for Changeling, one of Clint Eastwood’s two Oscar bids this year, has just made its way online. The film stars Angelina Jolie as a woman whose son goes missing in 1920s Los Angeles. The police return the wrong child and the woman is thrown into an insane asylum for disagreeing with the LAPD. When it seems that her real son has been murdered by a child serial killer and the child returned admits to fraud, she takes her case to the city council and takes down the mayor, the police chief and several corrupt officers, concurrently sparking changes in the insanity legislation.

The film premiered at Cannes to middle to high marks and Jolie is certain to be in consideration for an Oscar nom as well as Eastwood for director and the film for Best Picture. I still think it is too early to give any guarantees, but check out the trailer and see what you think.

Changeling hits theaters on October 24 and Eastwood’s other Oscar-bid, Gran Torino, arrives in theaters in December.

I thought the trailer looked absolutely phenomenal.
Maybe not as good as the Soloist.
But still bloody brilliant.

Ya know, I don’t think it was necessary to say so much of the plot in this article without spoiler warnings. There’s nothing in the trailer or the plot outline on IMDB to say that her child is murdered. In fact, the trailer makes that seem like one of the big mysteries of the movie. I would’ve liked to have not known that before seeing the movie.

Reminds me of In the Valley of Elah, where probably 8 months before the movie came out, IMDB had a plot outline saying that a father searches for his son who is murdered by his fellow troups shortly after returning from Iraq.

Oh well…nothing I can do about it now..just hope that doesn’t ruin the movie.
