Cinematic Revival: Leave 'Metropolis' Alone

I wonder if they even know this has already been done

On the left are the workers getting off their 10-hour shift and on the right are those just about to start. The folks on the left barely move while those on the right briskly enter the workplace.

Freder seeing Maria for the first time. Tell me he doesn't look like Ralph Fiennes.

When Freder sees a machine go over the boiling point he gets disoriented and instead of seeing reality he sees the workers being fed into the machine, which now looks like a monster. He refers to the monster as Moloch. In biblical terms, Moloch was one of the idols worshipped by the Israelites, to which they sacrificed children.

Rotwang on the hunt for Maria. Check out the skulls behind him.

That's Maria on the table undergoing the robot transformation process.

This is Joh, who I think looks exactly like General Tarkin (Peter Cushing) from Star Wars.

Robot Maria giving us the stink eye.

Robot Maria giving the upper class folks a show causing a stir in Metropolis. This equates to step one in Rotwang's plan.

Robot Maria again, except this time she is riding what appears to be a creature of some sort with seven heads and ten horns, much like the one described earlier in the movie from the Book of Revelations.

Yeah, that's death.

Check it out, Joh has a video phone!

It's the end of the world as we know it and the cheering commences.
