Check Out the First Eight Minutes of 'The Hurt Locker'

Get in on the intensity...

Yes, I believe watching this clip on the Internet before seeing it in the theater is not at all the proper way to see it, but considering Kathryn Bigelow's The Hurt Locker is a limited release film and may come to your city and leave just as quickly as it arrived I see this as one way to get you immediately interested and perhaps get you to the theater as soon as it opens in your town. It's one hell of a wild start.

Featuring Guy Pearce as an Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal squad leader along with team members Sergeant J.T. Sanborn (Anthony Mackie) and Specialist Owen Eldridge (Brian Geraghty) you can watch a scene I described in my review as "an opening sequence forcing you to readjust the way you approach the rest of the film. Preconceptions about who will live and who will die are thrown out the window just as easily as clichés are a forgotten memory."

The Hurt Locker hits additional theaters on July 10, get the full list at the official site.

The video won't play for me. But the bit of this I've seen looks fantastic. How great is it that such a testosterone driven film is directed by a woman? We're not all stereotypical rom/com audiences. Personally I love a well made film with solid performances and an intriquing story no matter what the genre.

I'll wait till this one hits Redbox. I won't pay more than $1.00 to see it. Whenever critics tell me "Oh, this IRAQ WAR MOVIE isn't preachy!" I know one thing: it's a preachy Iraq war movie. $1.00. Redbox. Lovin' it.

@kdogg: For someone who reads this site and chooses to comment here, you seem remarkably closed minded.
