Channing Tatum as Duke in 'G.I. Joe'?

Rumors have it this is the man to lead the squad

Channing Tatum
Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Channing Tatum is set to take the lead of the Joe's in Paramount's G.I. Joe for director Stephen Sommers.

The site reports they have been told a press release will be going out to the trades Monday afternoon reporting the news confirming the Step Up star will be taking one of fanboy's most coveted roles.

Tatum's next role will be in Kimberly Peirce's Stop Loss, which already looks like another generic war film no one will see even though it seems to be pandering to the MTV watching generation of folks who appear to be more interested in "Real World" and "TRL" than a silly war flick.

However, it is now confirmed Tatum will be joining Michael Mann's Public Enemies, joining Johnny Depp and Christian Bale.

Stay tuned as I will update this article with confirmation should this rumor come true this afternoon.
