Chace Crawford Set to Star in 'Footloose' Remake
Film won't cut loose until March 2010

"Gossip Girl" star Chace Crawford has been confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter as the lead for the upcoming remake Footloose to be directed by Kenny Ortega.
The film is a remake of the 1984 Kevin Bacon feature in which a family moves to a small midwestern town with strict moral beliefs, such as a ban on rock music and dancing.
Crawford has been seen in such teen thrillers as The Covenant and The Haunting of Molly Hartley and is also set to star as the lead in Twelve for Joel Schumacher. Twelve follows a high school dropout-turned-drug dealer. His lucrative life sours when the dealer's cousin is brutally murdered on an East Harlem playground and his best friend is arrested for the crime.
Footloose is currently set for a June 18, 2010 release from Paramount Pictures, which seems like it will be changing considering production isn't set to begin until March 2010.
