Cate Blanchett Set for ‘Indiana Jones 4′

Hey, now that's a name...

The Hollywood Reporter brings us news that our first big piece of casting for the fourth Indiana Jones movie has been made and it is Cate Blanchett joining Harrison Ford in what is sure to be the final installment in the franchise.

David Koepp’s script has been kept locked behind closed doors, so who or what Blanchett will be playing is unknown, but it is encouraging to see the likes of Blanchett boarding the film. It gives it an increased legitimacy.

Shooting will begin in June in Los Angeles and at undisclosed locations around the world. Paramount Pictures is set to release Indy IV day-and-date around the world on May 22, 2008, with a handful of territories opening the following day.

Steven Spielberg is directing.
