Casting the 2008 Presidential Election

An election year feature that must not be ignored...

Forget Oliver Stone's W. (which is sorta boring if you ask me), we are going major and leaving no stone unturned as we set out to cast a feature film adaptation of the 2008 Presidential Election. From the media elite to the folks at the top of the ticket there is hardly a name we leave off this list and myself along with the help of my casting directors Laremy Legel and David Frank have put together a list of names that won't necessarily break the bank of our producers, but represent some of the finest talent in Hollywood and will be put to good use.

Currently Eric Roth (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Forrest Gump and The Insider) is writing the script for Steven Soderbergh to direct. Roth has shown the ability to tap into a political thrill ride with The Insider but also shown a more comedic side with Forrest Gump and coupled with Soderbergh's talent at balancing lofty issues while remaining entertaining is evidenced simply enough in Erin Brockovich and he has shown a passion for the serious side of things with such films as Traffic as well as Sex, Lies, and Videotape as well as remaining entertaining with the Ocean's trilogy. Quite frankly I couldn't ask for a better team to be directing.

Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way production company is behind the picture even though DiCaprio has not yet found a role in the feature, but is rumored to be eyeing a cameo.

Extras for rally scenes are already being rounded up and an exclusive appearance by the now popular Joe "The Plumber" Wurzelbacher has already been agreed upon and the deal is said to have reached upwards of $250,000. What this will do to his personal taxes under either an Obama or McCain administration is still up in the air. Wurzelbacher declined to comment on who he was actually voting for however and said he was going to bed. Rumor has it, had Wurzelbacher not decided to participate Rob Corddry (pictured right) would have assumed the role.

Over the next three pages you will be provided with side-by-side pictoral evidence and a couple of lines of explanation as to why and how I filled 22 roles in the proposed feature along with the names, where appropriate, of those that auditioned but were not hired. If you feel we have miscast someone please don't hesitate to let us know as we are highly unorganized and are already devising negative attack ads combatting our own movie. At the end of each page just click the "Next Page" link to move forward. Here is what you will be getting:

PAGE 2: Elite Media

PAGE 3: Primaries

PAGE 4: Candidates, Running Mates and Potential First Wives

Enjoy!

Any idea what the storyline is like or ist going to be a big surprise?

It's not going to be one of those films with 12 endings like Lord of the Rings or the previous elections right? One of those dragged out affairs.

Remember when casting the bulldog for Lou Dobbs: It needs to be a bulldog that hates illegal Chihuahua immigrants

Maybe its just me but I don't find Tina Fey all that funny….Palin couldn't be played by anyone else but I just dont think she is that funny. I tried watching 30 Rock and couldn't get through the 1st season they all annoyed me so badly.
