Yeoh, Shumacher and Hunt's friends

Short and sweet today as we first learn that Helen Hunt’s directorial debut is gaining some steam as Colin Firth, Matthew Broderick and Bette Midler have joined Then She Found Me for the first time helmer. The film is an adaptation of the Elinor Lipman in which Hunt plays a schoolteacher found by her birth mother (Midler) during a tumultuous time in her life. Broderick is playing Hunt’s husband, and Firth a man she meets through one of her students. Hunt has been working for eight years to get the film off the ground and even took part in script rewrites with Vic Levin after Alice Arlen wrote the first adaptation. [Variety] NOTE: This news was first reported back in May 2005 when Woody Harrelson and Diane Keaton where set to star.

Michelle Yeoh has found herself in a pari of pics as she is set to star with Sean Bean and Michelle Krusiec in True North for director Asif Kapadia, which begins shooting this week in Norway and is about a woman and a young girl whose barren existence is disrupted by a soldier. The second film is Babylon A.D. in which Yeoh will star alongside Vin Diesel for director Mathieu Kassovitz. In Babylon Yeoh will play a nun who becomes caretaker to a young girl who might have been injected with a deadly virus. Shooting on Babylon begins in November. [Variety]

Finally we learn that Joel Schumacher is set to helm the supernatural feature Town Creek for Gold Circle Films with Lionsgate handling domestic distribution. The script was penned by Dave Kajganich and centers on two brothers trapped in a harrowing occult experiment. Shooting is set to begin in March ‘07 as Schumacher is currently in post-production on the Jim Carrey starrer The Number 23. [Variety]
