Campbell Eyed as 'Bond 21' Helmer

GoldenEye director may once again bring in a new Bond.

Martin Campbell, the man responisble for directing Pierce Brosnan in his first James Bond film, GoldenEye, may once again be back to bring in a new actor into Bond's tux.

Campbell, currently filming the sequel to The Mask of Zorro, titled The Legend of Zorro has been asked by MGM to return to the Bond franchise as the script by Die Another Day scribes, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, is apparently done. The new script is said to harken back to the Bond days of yore where the plot drove the film as opposed to the special-effects laden films of late.

The upside to this news is that if Campbell decides to take the helming duties on Bond 21 the film will be back on track for a 2006 release providing an actor is assigned to fill Bond's shoes left vacant by Pierce Brosnan.
