Butler and Heigl Set to Star in 'The Ugly Truth'

Uh oh, another rom-com for Gerard

Gerard Butler

Gerard Butler's trip into romantic comedies hit with a resounding thud late last year as P.S. I Love You was an absolute travesty, but that isn't stopping him from trying again as he is set to star in The Ugly Truth opposite "Grey's Anatomy" star Katherine Heigl.

The film, described as a battle of the sexes comedy, centers on a romantically challenged morning show producer (Heigl) who is reluctantly embroiled by her chauvinistic correspondent (Butler) in a series of outrageous tests to prove his theories on relationships and help her find love.

Heigl is currently starring in 27 Dresses, a film that has actually performed rather well at the box-office despite atrocious critical reviews scoring just shy of $46 million at the domestic box-office since its January 18 release.

Butler will next be seen in the family adventure feature Nim's Island for Fox Walden.

So even Kathy Heigl has resorted to the Cheap Trick of using the word "ugly" to get hits,eh? ("The Ugly Truth"). tsk tsk . Send over The Blondness to the Polish Penthouse and UG will get her on the casting couch for "Fahrenheit911 & Ugly George". Michael Moore is eating his heart out.
