A news release just arrived telling us that Michael Clarke Duncan is set to join the cast of the Broken Lizard troupe's next outing, The Slammin' Salmon, a film said to take the boys back to their Indie roots as they raised financing, wrote the screenplay and will star in the movie. Kevin Heffernan will make his directorial debut on the feature.

The film is a comedy set in a Miami restaurant owned by a brutal former heavyweight boxing champion, Cleon 'Slammin' Salmon, played by Duncan. 'The Champ' institutes a Glengarry Glen Ross like competition to see which waiter can earn the most money in one night, the winner stands to gain $10,000, the loser a beating at the hands of 'The Champ'.

Production is already underway in Los Angeles as it began on January 7th.
