#1 movie predicted correctly: 8 Weeks in a Row
1. Get Smart
I'm way bullish on this title but with the roll I've been on I feel confident with the risk. My reasoning is simple. 1) The competition - weak. 2) This is the first real comedy of the summer. No, there aren't huge swaths of Get Smart TV fans out there... but there won't need to be.
Estimate: $46.9 million
It will only drop 47.5%. Good word of mouth is what this Hulk is all about.
Estimate: $29.1 million
One day historians will ponder the worst idea of 2008. It will be either this or Zohan.
Estimate: $23.1 million
The Panda has gotten a wide open run, unlike almost any other movie this summer. Iron Man had to deal with Indy and Hancock has to contend with Dark Knight. But Panda has been loving it, wild and free in its environment.
Estimate: $19.3 million
I see a worse than average drop in this one's future. Bad news!
Estimate: $15.0 million
Can we agree yet that this was a bomb? C'mon people, the initial joy has worn off hasn't it?
Estimate: $9.5 million
I also wouldn't be shocked if it turns out this was a late night bet. Drunk on Sake bombs Sandler turned to his pals and said "Watch this, I can make a hit out of the next thing I doodle on this napkin." Then I imagine he passed out in a pool of his own vomit.
Estimate: $7.2 million
When does Sex and the City: The Flamethrower get released? That will be my favorite thing ever. In other news, I see a 46.5% drop.
Estimate: $4.1 million
10. The Strangers
Narnia should JUST miss out on this slot. C'mon guys, if I go ten for ten I get a free set of steak knives! See you Sunday friends.
Estimate: $1.2 million
