Brad: Even from the other side of the world I'm seein' the need for laughs over tears in theaters this weekend. I'm with the team that says "Yes Man" will finish first, by a healthly margin (8-10 million, give or take one).

The only reason why it's gonna be close is because of Will Smith. As much as I think Yes Man will beat it at a photo-finish weekend, I really don't want to see Will Smith's #1 streak end.

I think it is interesting a couple of you bring up how the trailers for Seven Pounds look confusing… Personally I think they give away the entire movie and really hurt it. Then again, I'm speaking as someone who has seen it and skipped the trailers beforehand so maybe I am wrong.

Tracking for the two films gives Yes Man a slight edge, which tells me without the extra theaters Seven Pounds would have a slight lead. Could be close.

I also have to go with Yes Man for winning the weekend, especially since altho Seven pounds is probly very good I think Yes Man reaches a wider audiance, more teens and friday night movie goes and such.

I really think Yes, Man will take the number one spot. All the will Smith fans I know were confused enough by the trailer to say they wanna stay away, while many have told me they want to see yes man. I think Yes Man will cash in on the fact that Jim Carrey films are more rare than Will Smith, and the fact that Seven Pounds looks straight up bad (in my opinion).

I am sorry, but I would put money down that Yes Man is going to gross more than Seven Pounds. I'd say about 10 million more at least. Seven Pounds looks very good and I want to see it, but the marketing hasn't been good and I know others have noticed it. Is it a drama? A dramedy? Part thriller? Can anyone really say what the movie is about after having watched the trailer? Not really. Yes Man will be #1. I guarantee it.

It's going to be really close for the number one spot, that's for sure. And Despereaux has had plenty of advertising, I've seen it everywhere since Comic-con, but it just doesn't look that good. It'll get decent business from the family market, but not much since Bolt and Madagascar are still out.

And I'm glad to see Slumdog Millionaire and Milk expanding. I mean, I can drive out to Hollywood to catch the limited run movies, but it's kind of a pain.
