Benz Tapped as ‘John Rambo’ Female Lead

Female voice is found for fourth installment

Variety doesn’t offer us much with this bit of news as we learn that Julie Benz of Showtime’s Golden Globe nominated “Dexter” is set to play the female lead in John Rambo, the fourth film in the Rambo series of films currently lensing in Thailand.

In the fourth film Rambo is recruited by a group of Christian human rights missionaries to protect them against pirates, during a humanitarian aid deliver to the persecuted Karen people of Burma. After some of the missionaries are taken prisoner by sadistic Burmese soldiers, Rambo gets a second impossible job: to assemble a team of mercenaries to rescue the surviving relief workers.

Outside of “Dexter” Benz had a small part in As Good As It Gets and several TV shows. She joins Sylvester Stallone in the feature along with Matthew Marsden and Paul Schulze.
