‘Babel’ Makes People Sick

I told ya so!

Last year I told you what a horrible experience Babel was. Now it seems as though medical science is backing me up in Japan.

TOKYO (AP) — The Japanese distributor of “Babel” is warning audiences the movie may cause nausea or headaches.

Yes. I felt that too. I wanted to escape. What was unfolding on the screen was almost unbearably bad.

The company was investigating which scenes caused the illnesses, and hasn’t ordered theaters to adjust sound or lighting.

Well, they should adjust the sound. I would suggest mute. Also, if the lighting could possibly show another movie that would probably be best.

The problem of nausea or headaches has only been reported in Japan.

Only because the rest of us suffered in silence! Listen, if you gave me millions of dollars and seven Oscar nominations to make you a suicide catalyst movie I could do so. I’d just have a guy getting hit by a bus on his way back from the hospital where his girlfriend died while getting an abortion. That would be my opening five minutes. I bet ya I’d even make more you than the $34m Babel scratched out.

So, based upon this, I’m thinking class action suit here. It’s time we rose up against movies that made us sick. It starts in Japan. It ends with our eight bucks back.
