Arnett and Shannon Join 'Jonah Hex'
The casting for this film has my expectations up in the air

The Hollywood Reporter brings news that Will Arnett ("Arrested Development") and Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road) have joined the cast of Jonah Hex, the action Western based on the DC Comics character for Warner Bros. Arnett and Shannon join Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox.
Jimmy Hayward is directing the film with Josh Brolin cast in the title role as a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malkovich) who wants to raise an army of the undead to liberate the South.
Arnett will play a Union soldier who enlists Hex and is blindsided by the dirty fighting style of his enemies. Shannon plays Doc Cross Williams, the bizarre ringleader of a brutal gladiator circus event.
The addition of Arnett seems strange considering he is typically cast in comedies (not to say he doesn't have range) but apparently the role is not inherently comic. With the wide spread list of cast members this film really could get interesting if done right.
Jonah Hex is already set for a August 6, 2010 release.
