ARGONAUT Adventure Heads to DreamWorks

DreamWorks may have found its new tentpole...

DreamWorks may have stumbled onto the next Raiders of the Lost Ark as they have tapped Identity scribe, Michael Cooney, to pen the script for Argonauts.

The film takes place on the eve of WWII, when a group of treasure hunters think they've figured out the location of the fabled sunken ship of Jason and the Argonauts, a vessel whose contents are believed to contain the mythical Golden Fleece.

The film was first brought to the studio back in 1996, and at one time Stephen Sommers was tapped to direct, but now he has taken a more modest role as producer, which means we may be spared from an overwhelming amount of cartoon-like CGI.
